(Submitted by Jeremy White, who hauls sheds in South Central Kentucky.)
My truck is a 2022 Ram 3500, and the trailer I use is a Scenic View that’s 24 feet closed. I can haul 36 feet of sheds.
My rig has a tongue extension, tail extension, tail shift, barn spinner, and a 2016 Mule 4HD.
I’ve been running the same trailer for about six years. I purchased it used.
I like the setup I have because I know what it can and can’t do. The trailer is a good size to get in and out of backyards.
I like to use the trailer as much as possible, but I don’t mind unloading the Mule when needed.
What’s most challenging, I think, in this business is probably the customers. I have to bite my tongue a lot. Most customers want to question your every move.
But, the good definitely outweighs the bad.
Through 11 years in the business, I’ve met some customers I wish I would have met years ago. Most of the time, I get compliments on my setup.
I like to keep my rig shining but don’t care a bit to get it dirty if needed.
Business stays steady, so it’s my full-time job. I’ve been hauling for the same company since I started—Bluegrass Builders. They are a great group of Mennonite guys.
If I don’t want to haul it because of a wild idea of a structure a customer came up with, they won’t build it. They understand my side of the operation.
If I need help setting up a shed, they never hesitate to jump in the truck and go along.
