Value of Shed Industry Collaboration

“You can have everything you want in life by helping others get what they want.” — Zig Ziglar

For 28 years I have been helping folks purchase the shed, carport, or garage of their dreams. I absolutely love what I do and wouldn’t change anything.

Over time, I have worked extremely hard to craft my skills in terms of connecting better with my customers and creating a rapport with them in order to earn their business.

During this time, I developed a system of sales that later evolved into the 10 Core Commitments for Success in the Shed & Carport Industry.

The word SYSTEM means Save Your Self Time Energy & Money. I learned early on that having an organized sales system garners far more sales consistently than not having one.

I also learned the importance of tracking your progress, or keeping score, is absolutely vital in having success in a big way!

The opportunity arose to create a new company called Shed Coach, which allows me to share the same value through coaching and mentoring other folks in the industry. Shed Coach allows me many avenues to share the knowledge I have acquired.

For example, I get the opportunity to write these articles, speak at the Shed Builder Expo, present at dealer days for other shed companies, and train the national sales team at Lowe’s where we sell sheds across the United States.

What I have discovered is that there is a significant desire among shed companies to train up and equip their sales teams with the 10 Core Commitments for Success in the Shed & Carport Industry’s money-making activities that will increase sales and productivity.

Sharing my knowledge and experience has allowed me to become a servant leader. I believe that we should always help our fellow human beings.

It has also been a vessel for me to collaborate with others in the industry. I have developed many meaningful relationships with other folks who do what I do on a daily basis. I absolutely love collaborating with my peers (who sometimes ironically happen to be my competition), and most of the time I walk away with new ideas and fresh perspectives.

I truly want to share my knowledge and show up for others the same way that my mentors/influencers showed up for me. I just truly felt the need to share my experiences which I believe drives sales, because I did not see anyone else doing it.

I believe that the shed industry is going through a prime time of development and expansion. I am so blessed to be able to focus on teaching my unique strengths that can be easily duplicated by others who are willing to be coachable and teachable.

When I am out and about, I can’t help but hear chatter about how bad the economy is. Let me be the first to tell you that if we do in fact have a recession, I’m not going to participate in it, and neither should you.

You see, our economy is what’s going on in each one of our minds. If you feed your mind negative garbage, you are going to get garbage results.

I encourage each and every one of us to feed our minds positive things and take massive action on the money-making activities that drive shed sales!

The shed industry is truly special to me. I am so blessed to be part of what I consider to be the “golden age” in our business.

Shed Nation, always remember that we are all on the same team, and I truly want everyone to succeed!

We can achieve anything we set our minds to if we all work together and learn from one another.

God Bless.
