Pennsylvania-based DIY manufacturer donates a Handmade Haven Mini shed to Crawford Christian Academy.

Best Barns, a DIY wooden storage shed kit manufacturer in Meadville, Pennsylvania, recently donated one of its premium Handmade Haven Mini sheds to Crawford Christian Academy.
The donation is providing valuable hands-on learning experiences for students in the school’s newly launched STEM program.
“The STEM program at Crawford Christian Academy just started this year,” explains Tanya Keyser, the program’s leader. “I have a senior high group of students as well as 7-8 grade students. The STEM program is based off of hands-on learning. It gets students out of book learning and into learning concepts in the real world.”
The donated shed serves multiple purposes for the school. Not only does it provide students with practical construction experience, but it will also help fundraise for the school’s Prayer Park project, a student-designed outdoor space for the community.
This hands-on approach to learning gives students practical skills they might not develop in traditional classroom settings. By working with the Best Barns kit, students gain experience in construction techniques, teamwork, and project management.
“Best Barns was extremely easy to work with during our project,” Keyser shares. “Emails were addressed in a very timely manner, and refunds of items were taken care of quickly.”
Best Barn says the shed donation reflects the deeply held community values that have guided the company since its founding. Lawrence Zehr, the company’s owner, has consistently emphasized the importance of giving back and supporting local education initiatives.
