Our golf simulator starts with our detached garage model, standardly used for a small outbuilding.
They are 16 feet wide, 24 feet long, with 10-foot-high walls. The structure is made with 2 by 4 framing, engineered trusses, LP Smartside Siding and Trim, OSB roof sheathing, a 29-gauge metal Pro-Panel roof, and we use Sherwin Williams A100 Satin Exterior Paint.
To build this structure, we use air compressors, pneumatic nailers, Skill Saws, routers, ladders, impacts, and measuring tapes. They are a lot of fun to build with its unique use and design, giving plenty of open room space and high ceilings.
Building on-site is always a challenge, working around the weather, depending on the concrete contractor to make the foundation square and level, and just working out in the elements and having to assemble everything on-site.
Our customers love this structure. It is a great size for functionality, usability, and quick turnaround on construction. The build and completion only take us about one to two days to complete
The process of turning the detached garage model into a golf simulator involves getting the shell of the building, insulating and wiring it with electrical, and then adding drywall or the customer’s choice of finish that goes on the walls.
From there, a custom choice of flooring or carpet is laid down, and then we paint and trim. LED lighting is best, and having lots of light is a big plus.
One wall should be just a plain wall, no windows or doors, and that is the wall where the screen for the projector goes. Choosing a shed with lots of height and length is best, as it gives you optimal space for setting up golf bags and having your golf equipment beside you for easy access.
Having a longer unit will allow for friends to have room to stand safely behind you as you swing and they can watch.
These are unique as they are built with minimal windows and a basic entry; in this case, we did a custom door for this customer. We enjoy doing custom projects like these as they expand our market to be able to satisfy our customers’ needs and build their dream design.
