This year’s combined Shed Haulers Bash and Texas BBQ brought the shed-hauling community together with fun, style, and grace.
Shed Haulers Bash 2025—Texas style—went off without a hitch.
Lots of planning went into this one as we teamed up the Bash with the annual Texas BBQ that happens in October every year.
All the extra planning paid off!
Caleb Miller, Mervin Vargas, and Karl Shrock teamed up with Jason Kaufmann and me to pull this one together. Jake Ensz and Lavern Beachy were also involved. If I missed someone, I apologize. On site, brothers Al (Texas) and Joe (Michigan) Borntrager were a huge blessing and help to getting everything set up and keep us all rolling.
There were a lot of others, too. The volunteers in the hauling industry are always ready and available.
As always, the sponsors deserve all the credit; without them, nothing happens. Once again, we had a long list. Look closely at the winners’ pictures, and you can see them all listed. We thank each one of y’all!
Everything else went pretty much to plan: the Show-N-Shine, the banquet, the light show, all the competitions, and the usual auction.
The highlight definitely was the fundraiser for the little girl with cancer, with the grand prize of a four-wheeler. The winner, Brandon Suarez, stood up and made a heartfelt speech, and then gave the four-wheeler to her brother.
And then came the impromptu auction that followed, where people kept buying and donating the same items back over and over. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.
I could tell a lot more about all that happened, including the crazy songs at the banquet, all the giveaways, the new national champion with his peg leg and Kubota mule, but honestly, you just had to be there.
Next time, make sure you are!
