It’s almost time for Shed Builder Expo 2024, produced by Shed Business Journal

This year, Sept. 25-26, the Shed Builder Expo is returning to its “source,” where it all began—the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The last time the industry’s premier trade show was in Grand Rapids in 2021, the first-ever Shed Builder Expo, attendees were excited about what they experienced.

“I was looking for an alternative source for some materials, and I already found it here,” said one attendee on Day One.

“I’ve been in house construction, and now I’m moving into larger sheds and cabins,” another shared. “I came here to make contact with vendors and get ideas.”

After Day Two, an attendee said, “This has been a great experience. I’m looking forward to next year.”

Since then, the Shed Builder Expo has grown with shows in Richmond, Virginia, and Knoxville, Tennessee.

And the 2024 edition promises to be bigger, better, and more energetic for the shed industry community.

EXHIBITORS, EDUCATION

This year will be the biggest Expo ever with over 130 exhibitors lined up to display their products and services in Hall A & Hall B at DeVos Place to help you build, market, and sell your portable structures.

From lumber to financing, from design to delivery, you’ll find something for every part of your shed-building business.

Trade shows are about learning and networking, and Shed Builder Expo has become the place where new ideas and sound advice can be shared through presentations, workshops and demonstrations.

This year’s educational sessions are being presented by Shed Business Journal. Several other presentations sponsored by industry leaders are also being offered.

Read more about all presentations here. Admittance to a presentation is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is limited, so be sure to show up early.

GIVING BACK

Last year, Shed Builder Expo organizers decided to “give back” to a worthy cause during the show.

In 2024, we’re teaming up with Stor-Mor Portable Buildings for its Stor-Mor for St. Jude fundraiser to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

TRAVEL AND STAY

Grand Rapids is located within a day’s distance of half the U.S. population, and it’s easy to get to by plane, train, and automobile. That means it will be easy for Shed Builder Expo attendees and exhibitors to get here in September 2024.

Those coming to the Expo can drive their own vehicles—getting around is easy and fast. Amtrak service between Grand Rapids and Chicago is available daily, with convenient connections to other cities. The station is just five minutes from the convention center.

Those traveling by air will fly into the Gerald R. Ford International Airport, the second-largest airport in the state. Six airlines offer more than 140 daily non-stop flights to and from the airport. Daily flights take place to and from more than 30 major market destinations.

DeVos Place (303 Monroe Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) has parking conveniently located under the convention center. Access to the parking lot is on Michigan Street and Lyon Street. Please note you cannot access the underground parking garage if you are heading West on Michigan Street. No left-hand turns are permitted due to a semi-permanent concrete berm installed for a new crosswalk.

Additional parking may be available in the City-County Building on Monroe Avenue (across from DeVos Place) or several other parking structures within walking distance. Vehicles that are too large to fit in a parking structure may be given a permit to park on Scribner Street during the dates of the event. Parking on Scribner Street is available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Lodging throughout the Grand Rapids area runs the gamut from luxury hotels to budget motels.

Show-associated hotels this year are the Amway Grand and Hyatt Place.

REGISTRATION

Builders, dealers, and haulers who want to attend the Expo and take in all it will have to offer can log onto www.shedbuilderexpo.com and register all attendees coming from your company. Email help@shedbuilderexpo.com with any questions.

Or, request a registration form by faxing 616-582-6300. Pre-registration is strongly recommended to avoid a long wait the days of the show. All attendees must receive and wear a show badge to enter the show floor.

Let’s all get ready for the Expo!
