Rig of the Issue: Ram 3500 Dually

Best option for the money, ‘Never let us down,’ owner says.

When Brian Birdwell, owner and CEO of Birdwell Towing & Shed Moving Services in Rogersville, Alabama, looks for equipment, he’s looking for value and reliability.

“We use a Ram 3500 dually because it’s the best option for the money,” he says. “It’s also never let us down.”

Birdwell uses a Pine Hill 32-to-40-foot roller trailer, with tail extension and shift.

“That comes in handy in several different situations,” he says. “We are very satisfied with the service we have got out of it so far.

“We currently use the Cardinal Mule IV because all our equipment came as a package deal. It’s getting almost time to update, but it has definitely moved its share of sheds and has been an asset to our company for almost three years now. It’s a great product, no doubt.”

Other than those machines, Birdwell says a snatch block can be a great help from time to time.

“We enjoy the day-to-day challenges that come with moving sheds every day,” he shares. “There is always something new that always makes for an interesting day, to say the least.

“The most challenging part (of hauling) would definitely be Mother Nature. We have found it to be best just to pray for better days to come. We keep being blessed to be able to continue doing what we love.

“Our customers are usually amazed at how fast we can load and unload their sheds as well as being able to place them pretty much wherever they would like them to be—in some pretty tight areas at times.”
