Shed Builder Expo Attendee Names New Siding

Union Grove Lumber’s new IronClad acacia siding was named by a Shed Builder Expo attendee from Bitterroot Shedz in Stevensville, Montana.

Union Grove Lumber, a provider of innovative building materials, reports launching the first-ever siding made exclusively from acacia designed specifically for the shed industry.

Moreover, the new product was named by an attendee during the 2024 Shed Builder Expo in Grand Rapids.

Representatives from Bitterroot Shedz in Stevensville, Montana, crafted the unique name—IronClad.

IronClad Exterior Primed Siding is a “two-sided,” 3/8-inch siding made from acacia. Designed specifically for the shed industry, this groundbreaking product combines the natural durability of acacia with the classic look and versatility of ⅜ siding, offering shed builders a premium, eco-friendly solution.

Acacia, known for its exceptional resistance to decay, insects, and the elements, offers unparalleled performance in outdoor applications. With the introduction of acacia siding, shed manufacturers now have access to a material that not only enhances the lifespan of structures but also maintains a beautiful natural grain, making it an attractive option for customers seeking both form and function.

Unlike traditional siding, acacia brings true hardwood and weather resistance, ensuring long-lasting protection in any climate.

The unique wood grain of acacia also adds a touch of elegance to the interior of sheds, making it ideal for outdoor buildings where aesthetics matter.

The key benefits of acacia siding include its natural resistance to moisture, rot, and termites, and the strength and density of acacia reduces the need for frequent upkeep, providing long-term savings on maintenance costs.

With its rich, warm tones and striking grain patterns, acacia siding delivers a premium look that elevates the appearance of any shed. The new product offers simple installation without sacrificing quality.

Acacia siding is made for the future, and in response to growing consumer demand for sustainable building materials, McCorry together with Union Grove Lumber developed this exclusive siding to help shed manufacturers meet both interior and exterior aesthetic standards within ⅜ budget standards without compromising quality or performance. Beyond ⅜, the IronClad line also has ½-inch options, as well as a 7/16 4 by 8 Farm House Board and Batten option.
